St. Mary Family Association

The St. Mary Star of the Sea Family Association (SMFA) is a group of parents and guardians dedicated to enhancing the connection between families and school staff.

Joining is completely free—there are no membership fees. Parents and guardians automatically become members of SMFA when their child(ren) enroll in the school. Together, let’s create a fantastic school community for our children!

Volunteer Guidelines

At St. Mary Star of the Sea School, we require parents and family members to volunteer for various opportunities throughout the year, including field trips, fundraising events and after-school activities.

 

All school and parish volunteers, priests, deacons, seminarians, and pastoral center employees must adhere to the Compliance Guidelines. These guidelines outline the required conduct for those involved in the community.

 

According to the Archdiocese of Chicago, all individuals who volunteer around the students must complete the following to be compliant.

Virtus Training

Virtus training is available in both English and Spanish. Training is presented in the parish and online.

Code of Conduct

Complete, sign, date and return all pages to our office.

CANTS Form

This form should be filled out and returned to the office. Any questions can be directed to the office at 773.767.6160
